The Yankees have worn the same hats for a hundred-plus years at this point. There have, of course, been slight variations - the logo got a little longer and a little thicker the late 1940s, but since then they've basically had the same one, both home and away, since the beginning.

1991 was Bernie Williams' rookie season. Bernie Williams would go on to ruin the lives of countless New Englanders throughout the 90s. However, on August 21st, an away game against the Kansas City Royals, Bernie went 0-for-5 with five strikeouts. Possibly related, but Bernie also wore really big glasses for the first couple seasons of his career.

This hat did not belong to Bernie Williams. This hat belonged to Stan (see photos). 100% wool with cotton sweatband. Slightly raised logo - the Yankees were years ahead on that one. This predates the addition of the MLB batterman logo on the back, which was a glued on patch in 1992 and embroidered across the league by the following season. Made in USA by New Era - this generation had a more rounded, slightly shorter brim and lower crown than others. In my humble opinion, these are the best fitting hats New Era ever did. Made in USA. Size 7 1/4.
